No it is not the same situation ... before R155 only the weak players were complaining because they think that their 2 months old toon should be on pair with the players who are in the game for years. Now it is completely different ... the arena is simply broken beyond repair.

Even some of those who want can not play pvp. Some ply go one after another pvp and some wait 1h to go 1 time in,in the same time in the same arena.Really I dont have a time for this.
For pve,you could not anymore farm ess,fragments,anders...Pls dont tell about that all day farm for 10k blue what is few run only on some boss...before on q3 was 1run 300anders and 2-3 k blue ess in average.
So many times many ppl just log in and log out waiting for the better future :)
I would like to have some concrete information about a gnob(time and items),about a pvp(planning with the dates),concrete information when we can expect to not wait 1h for 1run in pvp,is there legal or not to use 3d(officialy),what happened with the roadmaps?
    Tnx in advance

I agree PvP is broken now.
But I think we shouldn't complain about PvP at present.
Its the PvE update time period and that's what they said too, they are bringing only PvE updates and have scheduled (not sure when) PvP upadtes after all the PvE update in schedule.
Moreover, its been only a few months since level update and we are all running around with old gear or few new items that we have found since level update.
It is time for everyone to build toons again. Keep farming and improve your builds.
Just because you found one decent weapon at level 50 doesn't mean you go start PvPing.
And I see a lot of players PvPing being 46-47. Though you might be a "Marshal" and rocked at 45 PvP doesn't mean you can win easy against 50 ones now.
Even if you have farmed well and have all decent level 50 items, you probably haven't hit cap on wisdom tree. Those wisdom talent mulitpliers are a game changer.

Players who have hit wisdom 50 and farmed quite a lot of items and glyphs are in no mode to do PvP and are busy working at Fatal PW or those are the ones Massacring at PvP and sending player here to complain ;)

Keep Calm, PvP will be repaired some time soon (Hopefully )

No ... the players wanted to have shorter waiting period on "fairness" expense.
That is the pool of players waiting for the matches ... what is better :
to have 100 matches against higher ranked players per day
or to have 1 or 0 matches per day ... with players around your ranking?
    It is the first option.
BTW ... why are you always saying ... marshals ... marshals ... marshals?
Most of the marshals are complete noobs that were farming the honor points and were carried on other players's back ... the rank is not measurement for power.
I am long time level 50 in knowledge tree (i hate the new "wisdom" expression) and I have 60M glyphs only inside my bow ... and i am not playing the stupid broken arena since R155.

pvp is horrible now im a SW personally and im sure people on tegan knows that before this whole new system PVP was better it wasnt best but BETTER for sure not i just come on say hi n log off dont farm dnt pvp. and people talking about SW and rangers being over powered you either dont play right or dont got the right gear. cause dks and SM would wreck u easily no offence tho i see "noobs" by noobs i mean weak people who are new to pvp and all they say they suk in pvp i just tell them simply farm get good/decent gear and some gem and learn a playstyle/technique that best suits you dont try to be like someone else figure a style of your own and master it. but personally pvp now is nothing about skills its all about which character you play really thats all it comes down to now... which suks cause i wish pvp was about skills not about character. ofc gems matter and we pay for it.. i paid for mine many else have yet most of us still die 1-3 hit which is like "wd* ?" and i paid a sh** ton for my speed gems but now dsos bright idea was to nerf the travel speed id love a refund for my speed gems since they no longer are useful for the purpose i paid so much for... i hope you CMs read this cause it really isnt fair to nerf something we paid for speed gems arent 1$ each

U know what bro! I've played new SM for 4 months with purchased premium and managed to get dragan set! I'm not afraid of marshals who played for 3-4 years bro cuz I farmed quite a lot till 2 weeks ago when I was boring farming, I started to do PVP and u know what
the PVP system always matched me with GRAND MARSHAL players who've been playing for 3-4 years when I was just a Novice Centurion (with more than 200k CV with RED)!
I found that it's extremely not fair and I've found no fun playing this game to relieve stress!
So i decided to quit until new class are introducing!
Anyway, good luck those who still believe in fairness and BP!

I'am so stressed from the PvP, I can not put it in words ...
Stuff that is so annoying in PvP, slow down from RA and double damage with marking (really in PvP?), when Dragon Hide in use (2-3-5 skill activated) "you" are NOT immune to negative effect, still get armor brake and get slowed down (DT blunder?), Ice Magic spaming, no determination, slow escape time for DK (with SW and RA having powerful skill, DK is outdated, I'll say it again, dead as a dodo) .. ect a lot of issues. All 4 classes need to be redone as is now, very poor balanced. Some have to much, power some have to little but back in the "old days" of Arena it was more fer to all 4 classed.

It would be a good idea to have a tester on the regular servers, see it for your self.

I basically agree with you (and I also have some deep sea set items that I only keep, stupid me, for a set completion that will never happen).
Yet, even if the set achievements were to be removed, I'm very sure the required points for the titles would not change. The only benefit of a removal would be a cleaned-up achievement list (at the cost of less options to obtain points).
Nobody forces us to do achievements, there is no benefit for them and the titles above demi-god are crap, even if one cares at all about titles ^^.
So just forget about those set achievements and smelt those items already?
I definitely see more urgent issues than cleaning up the achievement list.
    *****
And yes, it would be nice to feedback the new crafting system BEFORE it is 99% developed (and potentially destroying any balance left...)

I noticed, that you can't answer all the day and that it need its time to get some answers from the coders, but 4 days ago, you've been not answering here (the german version of this thread) since exactly 3 months! Since then many questions were asked and we're all waiting for answers.

I hope this and @Gummiball 's request will make you looking in our german threat again ...

I read many here complain that their favorite class is at a disadvantage. It is not unusual to feel it that way when there is competition from other classes. As a player who plays all four classes in pvp arena I have experienced this as I play but since I play all four classes I appreciate and recognize their differences.

I am not saying that there are balancing issues, but things are not as bad as they seem when you only play one particular class. I don't see any class with a huge unfair disadvantage.

If you have trouble with PvP, instead of complaining about lack of abilities in your class and how overpowered every other class is, perhaps you should try to change your tactics, improve your gear and improve your skills.
Perhaps avoid duels and focus more on 5v5 matches and instead of trying to solo everything, support and go with your team and take advantage of the team effects.

When I only had one character, I had trouble with PvP as well. I constantly got killed with one hit. Then someone in this forum recommended me to play other classes and learn their advantages and weaknesses and use that to your advantage.

I did that and not only that I started appreciating the character of my original class but I also got hooked into the abilities of other classes. That is how I ended up now playing all four classes competitively in the PvP arena with success.

Hi nice Haruki, everyone knows that in pvp a Marshal has advantages compared to a Centurion. Then why in pve a Demigod has no advantages compared to a Hero? Do you want to give importance to the Achievements level like pvp levels or it is only waste of time (extra damage or defense in pve, % to find unique items, etc.)?

Hello there everyone and happy post-holidays season,

The CM absence from this thread is touching its end: tomorrow, Thursday, this one that humbly writes here will proceed to scan the latest pages (we arrived to 100, not bad, guys, not bad!!), and offer clarification and answers where they are due - of course, I will read your concerns and feedback as well. These are busy days in the office with the teams working for the two upcoming releases and the plethora of events. On our side, Greg and me are working to keep a better overview of all community wishes and issues and raise even more awareness inside the team for those ones - that is certainly one of this 2016 community management resolutions, among other ones.

You will hear more of them in our next Twitch session - and tomorrow, when my fingers type frantically on the keyboard.
Until then, thanks for your patience and wish you all an amazing evening/night/morning!!

    Dear Haruki,
good to see you back, hope you had some nice holidays and managed to recover from our constant flow of requests and complaints! :)
In order to leverage your renewed energy and to take the chance to ask you when you are about to give answers :), I'll post a question now that might be a bit more tricky to answer...:

Since you published the attack speed breakpoints in November, there has been a more or less lively discussion of those in the German forum, accompanied by further user testing (i.e. measuring effective attacks per time interval).

As far as I understand the results, it seems that the different breakpoints for different skills are due to the different numbers of graphical "frames" (animation steps) in which the skill is originally displayed. Speeding up seems to be reached by omitting one of the original frames from the animation, so that the acceleration is not linear, but happens in steps. The less frames are displayed already, the bigger is the impact of omitting another one, which is why the gaps between the required speed values to reach the respective breakpoints become bigger and bigger.
    Is that correct, so far?

Even further, the testing results suggest that there is another "issue":
The base attack speed of 1,0 attacks per second seems to be calculated for a skill that has exactly as many base frames as are all-over displayed in one second by the game, assuming that there is a fixed "frame rate" (of 24 fps?).
Unfortunately, most if not all skills obviously have different base frame numbers (not 24), e.g. the magic missile has 15, some others (fireball, precise shot, explosive arrow) have 20, and the DK's rage attack 21 and the rageful swing 22, afaik.
The consequence is that each skill has an effective speed of the highest breakpoint reached, multiplied by a/x, where a is the display frame rate of the game and x is the base frame number of the skill.

So, magic missile at a nominal speed of 1,034 would reach an effective 1,65 attacks per second (allegedly multiplied by 24/15), while rage attack at a nominal speed of 1,024 would result in an effective speed of only 1,17 (multiplied by 24/21).
As any speed gains by equipment, pets or gems (assuming that you reach the next breakpoint for the skill you are looking at, first of all) are multipliers of that effective base speed, the actual gain in attacks per second from e.g. a 5% saphire for a user of magic missile is 21/15 or 7/5 or 1.4 times of what a rage-attack using DK gets from the same stone.
So much for our community findings.

    Now to my question(s):
    - Are these considerations correct?
    - What is the display frame rate of the game? Is it 24 fps?
    - Could you please also publish the base frame count for each skill, i. e. the number of frames in which the skill is displayed at speed 1.0?

    Note:
The base frame count and speed differences between different skills are inherent in the system, cannot be easily changed and the whole balancing is based on and optimized for those different attack speeds!
I am not demanding any change, i would just like to be able to calculate the effective speed gain of any improvement of my equipment that I am considering.

that should have been an interesting discussion, shame I dont speak any German.

It is correct. Almost. Few important things:
    1. Different AF for the skills is introduced in order to 'fake' the 'continual' experience in a 'discrete' world of animation frames.
    2. the acceleration is not linear, and it does happen in steps, providing the rational function, but, for the larger steps another substeps are introduced, so the power of the steps is downgraded at some point. Take this as the AF of the AF15 skill is actually not 15, but 30. and it goes like 15/14,15/13,15/12...15/7,30/13,15/6,30/11... etc. The breakpoint is the middle point of each pair.
    3. DSO, as do most games, uses the FPS 60. So, having 60 gives some room for another breaks by omitting frames.
    4. At the speed 1.00, empty/copy/dublicate frames are being added proportionally.
    5. There is a chance the game uses 'preamble' frames for the technical purposes, which would be called, usually, sequence numbers in a game dev world. They are used to initiate an action, do the communication about sequence number and start of the action so the autocratic server could take that into account, checking if there was no other client who sent an action request (fact about desired action) with a lower sequence #, which would mean that other client started his action earlier even though the packet might have benn received later (latency compensation). In case of collision, server will rollback the action by the 'loser' client, for example you are starting the Jump, but another player, or a mob got there. Even though your client started doing that action, because he couldnt predict an action by another player or a mob (in case impacted by another player (this is bug as there should be no instant mob reaction)), the action will be rolled back. So, there might be few extra frames for the initiation of the action, depending on how you code it. those are not actually frames, those are empty-dong-nothing frames, just a computing time.

Not sure I follow on this one, the consequence part. what do you mean by effective speed of the highest breakpoint reached?

otherwise, looks correct. The AF 20 skill will take 1 second, with 20 frames being animation frames with injected 40 frames of No-Op which is 20 * (60/20)
I did not get this one. Where did you get those numbers from?
Here is my math for a mage:

    teleport,4
    mind control,13
    meteor,17
    magic missile,15
    lighting strike,17
    ice sphere,13
    ice bullet,15
    frost wind, 13
    frost nova,13
    fireball,20
    chain lighting,15
    singularity,15
    Game FPS 60

Break point formula is (or was):
    All of [(Skill_AF / N + Skill_AF / (N+1) ) / 2]
    Some of [(Skill_AF / N + Skill_AF / (N+0.5) ) / 2],
    where 0 > N > Skill_AF

And it is a nice post, very interesting question, but I doubt we will get any answer of the level of your (and mine) interest. Guess it is a question to the Dev folks. Perhaps the Dev Diaries on the attack speed?

    what happened to travel speed?))
