Unique Items can now additionally drop on top of regular loot, so character will always get the intended minimum quality of loot. Empty drops have been taken out of the loot lists of boss monsters like Balor.

This is a step in the right direction. Of course it is beyond sad that empty loot drops were ever in the game, but we'll see how well this works once it hits the servers.

Replacing the ability to use materi frags to buy somewhat lousy uniques with a nice melt value for random legendary items seems about right for DSO.

The ability to use the materi frags to bypass the maps is at least somewhat better, certainly not as good as it should be, but better. Will the materi frag drop rate be changed now that we have a use for these things?

Quite the cleanup, Maleficent, anyway, here are my two cents...

I appreciate the corrections, specially the double-event notification, the lightning nova of the minibosses and such things, those, even if minor, are always welcome. The auto-pick for materi fragments is amazing, [hope you could do the same with andermant]. EDIT: Seems I misunderstood, thought they were going to be added automatically to our inventory regardless of the location of the map where they dropped, anyway, still good.

I gotta agree with this statement 200%, it's beyond sad, hope that the fact they're non existant now it's 200% true as well, specially with Balor....

Now to the hard part, class balancing..., I completely disagree with what you did to the ranger, regarding PvE, as for PvP, might be a good thing, but for PvE, doesn't seem right, I'm going to repeat myself here suggesting that you change the skills like you change the duration of debuff effects, like "Affected foes will be covered in frost for 3.0 (PVP 1.0) seconds", you might as well try to do that with a skill like explosive arrow which is used by rangers for PvE, i.e.: direct damage 150% (PVP 120%). As for steam mechanicus, I don't see a lot of harm in reducing the dismantling area, maybe I change my mind after I test it myself on my lil' dwarf.

Please, don't forget that our skills are not designed exclusively for fighting inside an arena, we have a painful, excruciating and fatal mode parallel world to conquer, and nerfing here and there you make that path literally excruciating for some classes. As for myself, rangers and all classes will be always welcome into my PvE groups, considering the nerfing train ongoing since R155 we need each other more than ever.

Not every post that was in this thread was a rantathon. The valid stuff that actually had some thought put into it got swept away also. Sad part is from experience; the garbage can is as good a place for feedback as anywhere else.

To stay on topic and put it in the "approved" format:
WHAT I DONT LIKE AND WHY
    You're efforts to balance PVP with these continous little step methods are misguided. I said in the R155 feedback at the end of September WE ALL DO TO MUCH DAMAGE TO EACH OTHER and damage mitigation was the issue. So instead, over the subsequent releases: you boost HP for all, give one class a toy to regen HP and then reduce the damage of one class multiple times all while increasing everyone's damage through global gear and gem modifications. Four months of continuous feedback on what is wrong and how to fix it and you still don't get it. R160 does not address any of the real balancing issues. You have earned another {sigh}

This is my reality in the game: Before R155 I was at a ceartain capability level. After 6 releases including R160 my stat numbers are % wise much higher than they were but my character is much weaker as far as what it can do in the game. Further reducing my damage may make other toons happy in PVP, but it makes me more impotent than ever in PVE. You do not understand this because you have not been in a grp of 2 with an SM or SW and seen what they can do. You don't even need see numbers or do math. Just watch the HP bar move when grp'd with equally develop toons of the different classes. PVP is not the only part of the game you should consider when you take these actions. You didn't even have the courtesy to offset the loss of damage because you overshot on EA damage to begin with and reduced other skills because of its damage. Now you reduce EA but wont give the damage of other skills back to make ranger viable.

I have spent the last 4 months trying to be optimistic that you would eventually get to the core of what was wrong, especially since you were being told that information by the people playing the game. Instead, you nerf me, AGAIN, with no sign that you are adressing the real issues. Feedback for R160: thanks for the other stuff, when will you be fixing the damage mitigation issue?

Robbing a person and later asking him to complain politely? GG :p

    Suggestions:
1.Reduce the concentration cost on Explosive Arrow.
Since the skill deals far less damage than it used to, its fair to reduce the insane concentration it asks for.
Rangers have hard time managing their resource pool and now with a skill with less damage and more conc cost, makes it even more hard to play.
    Nerf the concentration cost too.

2.Take away the armor break from rangers in PvP and give back the damage in PvE.
That's what the cry babies were worried about right? Rangers armor breaking throughout the match without any cool down
PvE monsters are way hard than PvP opponents. Do not look at both PvP and PvE on same grounds.

3.Let the legendary items for sale in exchange for materi frags be more specific. They are too general to gamble with our materi fragments.
Offer specific Legendary helmet, torso, pauldrons, longbow, shortbow etc instead of generalizing them as legendary weapon and legendary equipment.

The locker and inventory changes are nice. Thanks.
The settings do not revert to defaults, when updating to new releases. Thanks.
The passes to New Moon Difficult now stack. Thanks.

Removing the Exploit, Boss monsters stuck in obstacles, was stupid. Taking cover from attack is a smart choice with real life consequences. Use of obstacles and cover in inherent in the game. It is not fair play to give monsters additional advantages. There are times monsters cannot be damaged; why should players not have times of no damage?

I got a level 46 protector ring with 0 CV. Woopie. It does have some silver and copper value, but why bother? There's not much you can buy with gold. It would be different if Gold could be traded for ander, strong essence, or pots.

If transportation fragments cost 35000 materi fragments, those fragments should stack to 99,999. 9,999 doesn't cut it.

    More later.

The PW boss portal items are not working as intended. If you buy one for fragments or andermants and use it while your team is already in the boss map, you are entering a different boss map, alone. And if you try to change maps by logging out and logging back in again, you are instantly getting back to the city. Be careful if you buy such an item trying to run and help your friends or guild members - it just doesn't work.

    On official announcement it says:

"You might remember that we had announced that non-premium members would be able to get Mystic Cubes starting with release 160. After less than a week we took back this statement (Changes to Premium Accounts).

However, it looks like something went wrong, and at the moment, the Mystic Cubes seem to drop for non-premium users.

This is certainly not intended and the Team is currently looking into fixing this with the hotfix, which is coming on Thursday, the 21st of January 2016.

Currently there has been no statement whether there will be a roll back or any sort of patching to take away the cubes from non-premium users, but we will keep you updated."

It is important to know as soon as posible if will be a roll-back, because 2 days of farming seems alot. For example I farm fragments for moon event and Gnob's arrival, and as I said 2 days of farming is ALOT.
Should we wait or should we keep farming in those 2 days?
    Thankz.

I didn't find myself to be overly strong using my Explosive Arrow in PVP or PVE. I like the fact that it has no cool down, but it does use a lot of concentration so therefore has "cool down' built in. All I have to do is miss (whether in pvp or pve) and i'm hooped, so good for me if I actually hit a moving target in pvp once in a while. I would say move the damage back up, or as suggested earlier, keep the damage down, but decrease the concentration cost as well. Maybe that way I can shoot 2 of them and maybe one will hit that quick moving, flag bearing DK or SM. :D

Your efforts to kill the boss repeat kill bug have resulted in my entire party being teleported to town TWICE when your servers flickered and the entire party lost connection. Both times while in Fatal Bearach runs in map2. I get that you are trying to remove this easy farm glitch, but now you have made it so that any errors your server has are nonrecoverable for anyone in the map. Flicker flicker town.

When I bought a travel ration for Bearach on fatal mode the screen displays this:

So, does this means that I won't get any of the new items going there via travel ration?, or is it just a display error?

Also, is it only my idea or the upon-death lightning nova from the mini-bosses still doesn't work properly and deal after-blow damage?

EDIT: The lightning nova IS still dealing after-blow damage..., died a couple of times just for testing.

Add to these comments that I shared BigPapa's issue two times in two days (personally) - without a server flicker. If you happen to get a net error, a java crash (and that happens daily for me) or a temporary internet disconnection, off to the town you go. Nearly every one of my guild's members and friends "lost" a party member while playing since yesterday.

Fixing a bug is one thing, but I feel that you just created far more trouble than before.

Also, the achievement points of four of my guild's members were reset to 0. Oh, and the new "timed" PW achievements, none of them work, the timer begins at 0:00.

Reminds me of the teleport/mount thing. Been in the game a while and DSO doesn't say a word until it was decided to be taken away. Then all the sudden it is claimed to be a bug.

I have to say fixing the "stuck" boss where you could kill him was an interesting fix, yet on many maps it is still possible for a monster to get stuck and you cannot kill him. Another example of when it benefits the player it must be fixed sooner rather than later.

I'm not noticing any difference in boss drops despite the "empty" drops being removed, but I guess that is just luck.

The cube drops are also interesting. Was going to be released, then not going to be released, yet end up in the game anyway. Seems like testing this release thoroughly before rushing to go live on the servers would have been a good thing.

Most interesting of all is the warning not to exploit the andermant bug. When bugs negatively affect the player, it can take weeks/months to be noticed, researched, talked about and maybe fixed. When the bug negatively affects DSO, it comes with a warning and the hotfix is announced almost immediately.

Other than the bugs and nerfs, there's actually quite a few things I liked about this update.

For one, materi frags finally have auto-loot. Could other things that are semi-invisible such as lockpicks, mortis coins, and realm frags also be added to that list? Those items basically function like currencies anyways, and I often miss them if I'm not looking closely or using Ctrl. Actually, I would love it if there was an auto loot pick up system for everything, but maybe I'm just too slack with clicking. xD

The addition of new stuff to buy for materi frags was also great. ^-^ Portals straight to the boss are fantastic. I'm not crazy about the leg equips for materi frags, because I actually think it's way too pricey for a (very likely) crappy leg, but I suppose having more possibilities to spend our frags on isn't bad either.
