I'm not sure @thebearreturns but three level up from the new axe will be a cost 42 millions of glyphs approximately and two more sockets for gems 6400 andermants, think about it. The old axe is awesome with 140% increased weapon damage but this is a serious thing, you must use a calculator tool or something like that.

Simple, see what the damage would be if you put 42M glyphs into the new axe, but even just considering it as is, you can still get an idea of if it is worth it. With the warlord set, The 107 damage accounts for at least 107*(1+1.4+0.5+0.3)*(1+0.5+(% damage on torso))=513.6 damage or more. The 275 damage, under the same condition, would account for 275*(1+0.61+0.5+0.3)*(1+0.5+(% damage on torso))=994 damage or more. The 147 worth of damage from gems is 705.6 and 531 respectively. Add these together and not including the glyphs you get 1219 and 1525 respectively. But this doesn't account for the base damage... I'll let you calculate that part and finish the math.

My cuirass gives me a 13.90% dmg, i'll do numbers and report about ;)

    Edit: those are the numbers:

    New axe lvl 53:
    1026.668-1269.188
    Dps 952.78
    Crit 1580
(It is 175-325 dmg base + 313 dmg bonus with the 61.68% dmg weapon increase)

    Old axe lvl 50:
    979.608-1296.54
    Dps 944.6
    Crit 1387
Same cuantity of glyphs and dmg from rubys(147) both cases

Doing maths.. i'll lose 79.55 basic max dmg but increase 138.699 basic min dmg and 193 crit hit... Does it worth to spen 6400 anders on this way?... Thanks you!

I finally got a LVL 50 2H that is better than what I have.

    Bottom line up front:
I gained 664 min damage, 925 max damage, and 12.46% chance of crit at the cost of 0.15 attack speed.

The only down side is that I lose the 1.05 base attack speed, but everything else is a massive improvement.
Here are the stats with no buffs or ess:

    After:

And here is the side by side comparison of the two.

Thanks, I've been using my universal gems very smartly. That and I haven't bought anything for ander except rubies (and the R160 inventory expansions) in over a year. I was saving up for my next radiant ruby in this gem sale which is why I had the ander to buy the two gem slots. I expect to get my next +38 ruby in about a month and a half.

Wow... and LVL 55 too! Nice farm. That is a beast of a weapon! Too bad about that crappy crit damage line.

I have a question, and by all means if there is already a thread for this that I missed, please let me know. I'm a new DK and was wondering about one handed weapon vs two handed weapon. Which would be better and why. Any advice would be great. Thanks!

1H implies that you are more defense oriented. You can still have decent damage, but with the right gear, you will lose less HP. It is particularly important in the early game for DKs until you unlock HP regen from MWS and Dragon Hide. Once those skills are unlocked is when 2H weapons become more viable. In short, if you can do enough damage, you can recover more HP than you lose. The advantage is that you can actually kill faster and when you are soloing, speed is key. Most end game DKs will build towards one or the other, but they will also look for some items that let them switch back and forth between the two. I have a 1H and shield for when I need to do a defense based aggro tank and i have my 2H (seen above) that I use for everything short of the most difficult bosses.

Thank you. I'll remember that. Anyone else have any advice for a DK in general?

And you are just the man for the job. So how do we talk you into sharing even more of your knowledge? So many things have changed since 155 that most of the older threads are not 100% useful. Sure, there's a ton to be learned by reading through the older ones, but a newly created guide would be invaluable to everyone.
