Ideal Gems for 2H DK

So I am in the process of getting up to level 50 (41 at time of writing this post) and I am going to invest in some gems. My question is, other then the obvious sapphires on my weapons, what gems should I go after? Health points, resistance values or armor value? Your ideas/input is greatly appreciated!

 

Don't put sapphires in your weapon. Put rubies in your weapon, put sapphires in your trophy/adornment. Don't use onyxes either. I have 5 rubies in my 2H hammer and 5 sapphires in my trophy.

Defensively, most 2H DK's mostly use amethysts and diamonds (hp and resist gems), as well as special gems. Cyanites (armor) are rarer, but some use them on the torso if they have the special jester torso armor% gems as well.

I use 5 jewels of rage in my helmet and 15 diamonds in my shoulders, gloves and boots. I also have 2 of the 20% increased armor gems in my torso, so I have 3 cyanites in the other 3 slots.

I also have 19 amethysts in my necklace, 2 rings, and belt. My cloak now has 4 slots, and has 2 solstice stars, 1 concentrated snow crystal, and one 20 hp/sec regeneration skull.

 

Yes. Rubies is what I meant. My bad! Where did you get the regeneration skull. That sounds pretty sweet.

 

most of the special gems are rewards from past events... i forget which one the regen skull was from... i think maybe dragan event?

 

Yep. Waiting for the next one so I can make a second 20 hp/sec gem.
