Splendid spellweaver staffs (?)

Hey guys,

I'm a level 27 spellweaver. Been using this level 23 double handed staff (96-179 damage, but low speed) and then found this level 26 splendid staff (only 35-57 damage, but high speed). I tried using it with a magacian orb, which is good because it blocks and it's faster, but I feel like it's less efficient to attack. What do you think is better? What do you like using? Sometimes I find these splendid equipment but they're not nearly as good as what I have...but seem to be worth more.

 

In the end, it won't matter once you've reached level 50

 

The truth is that you should use whatever is good for your level and your play style. If you have a hard time staying alive with a staff, use a wand and ball. If you never take a hit anyway, use a staff to mow through the mobs.

That being said, Novadude is still right. You'll end up making your final call at LVL 50. Right now, it is just good to get familiar both play styles so that when the time comes, you'll know what you prefer.

 

Actually he is using wand http://drakensangonline.wikia.com/wiki/Splendid_Durian_Staff ... it is not his fault the devs renamed every single weapon to "staff". Now the new players actually don't know that the one handed weapons are wands and 2H are staffs.
And that is because some people in BP don't have a clue what game they are working on.

Well, I just found my splendid staff i think it works fine. I'm currently using a blue level efficent book now and that raises the attack a bit more then with block with orb. Also gem it up with attack gems crit or hit helps a lot.

 

The splendid gear is on pair with the magic gear of the same level.
You don't need it ... get a legendary wand and orb/book and try to get the New Moon set (Witch chaser).
It will serve you on your way up ... but after 5-6 levels you will have to find a replacement.
I am using the following combination for my noob SWs:
Vargulf's wand + Vargulf's book (or any leg/exo book) + Witch Chaser set.
