If you need a good map for champions, the dungeon off of Hognis Mine (forgot the name) works pretty well... Last time I checked, there were 6 champions in the map. I just use parallel (I have it unlocked so all of my toons can use it) or when the event was on I would do jullov because I was farming for picks and burners. :)

I've cleared Hailstone Mountains today and nothing counted for the champions/leaders DQ. It does count the wolf mini-boss from Eternal Watch, but since it's hard to find him... I went to PW and killed some materi fissures. :D

Oh, and why are bosses called Leaders if they don't count for the Leader DQ ? I killed the leader of the trolls, the leader of the Norsemen, the leader of the dwarfs, etc. None of them count for the leader challenge. When I was programming, consistency of terminology was required.

    -- MERGED --

Only 1 qualifying champion appears at any one time.... 8o(

    Materi fissures work too :p
I guess I was wrong... I haven't done that map in a looong time.
It wants Champions, not leaders... I wish it was different... :|

I feel that a lot of the problem with these "Boss" category quests is that a lot of players were so focused on getting things done. Stop a bit a smell the withered roses :D

These dailys are fairly easy if you know what's on the maps. I'll give you a couple of teasers:
    • Abyss of Time has 4 leaders and 1 champion 99% of the time (very rarely the champ does not show)
    • Cradle of Life has the potential for unlimited champions (same map without re-entering)
I could go on and on but I want to avoid the tldr

Also there are tactics you can use to get in and out of a dungeon quickly to see if a champion has spawned. One on the things that I have noticed since my return to the game is that kiting seems to be a lost art. Even my weakest alts can run thru a worthy map without attacking or dying.

A bit of planning ahead is helpful too. For example: Got a challenge to kill 600 worthy? Seems like a good time to me to go grab a key for the Alliance Hall for the next time I need one.

There is a huge irony for me about the new Daily system. The same devs who so often seem to have no clue what actually playing this game is like; actually came up with a system that integrates very nicely with what is already in the game.

    Luck be with ye,
    Mikey,

Doh... The problem is for characters lower than lvl 40 without PW access...
    ---------------------------
There are two issues with the White Wolf mount:
    - You can sell it for 1 copper. o_O
    - You can't dismount it like the other ones, pushing "O" while mounted just remounts it.

There are three possible Champions on that map: a gnome right south of the entrance, a troll right at the entry point to the western part where more trolls are and a viking in the north-western part of them map. One of them should always be there (though it seems that on rare occasions, none show up as someone said above - so, guess you were just unfortunate enough to find such an instance).
Name and rank are two totally different things, don't go by that. I can see where you're coming from, though.
Indeed, a very funny find when it happened to me too, hehe.
Yeah, it's harder with no PW or access to Myrdosch+ maps that can have random mob enchants, but still...

LOOK FOR EITHER RANDOM ENCHANTS OR A MORE DETAILED RED CIRCLE BENEATH THEM.

Most maps/dungeons should have Champions, but they are not always easy to find (as can be seen from all the feedback so far) and I totally agree that we have some too many boss categories... wasn't a problem until now due to the simple fact that nothing required attentive search for specific kinds.

No... I've killed them (and there's also a slug mini-boss), but they didn't count.
EDIT: And also the PVP one with defeat players at some point it stops counting.
On the version Before this new DQ, you could finish it in one capture the flag, but now you need 2-3 5vs5 matches.

Nah, at any level there is a doable run thru to kill champions. Granted some areas take a bit longer. The trick is the same though everywhere. Ignore everything else and just "Run, Forrest, Run!" until you get 'em.

Just for giggles after my previous post I did a kill 5 champs with a level 15 alt and timed it. 7 minutes from start to finish. I'm sure this is the fastest one in the game and only works at lvl 15 and below.
No, not the ones callled "Leader of" or the KeyMaster gnome or the Drummer Troll; but there are 4 randomly occurring champions in Hailstone, one for each mob type. Typically only one appears in any instance but they spawn in the same places for each one.

Hemogapple in Eternal watch is not a bad choice either. He only spawns in about 4 different places and there are lots of jump points to short the run thru that map.
This is the same as it ever was. You can only count 5 kills against any given player in one day.[/QUOTE]

Only 5 kills against a single player per PvP kills quest. If I'm right and you get 5 kills against PlayerA and 5 kills against PlayerB for bronze, then you can still get 5 from them towards silver, and then gold.

Slug? Erh, well one of 'em should've counted if it's the Champions you beat - note that there are regular mini-bosses of the same, let's say species on the map, but those don't count. As for the PvP thing, as said before, it's just the ol' matter of "worthy opponents". You can still get it done in one or two matches, provided you don't get about the same people - if the same person is killed several times, it stops counting, as you know.

I found that, aside Twilight Downs and Nahuatlan (obvious choices since they are wilderness areas with respawning bosses) Stillwater Bay is also an easy choice for Champ hunting for the higher levels. I found up to 5 per single map.

A lot of the comments on R170 appear to be from end-game players, who can fairly efficiently farm/grind and are already resigned to that mode, so any incidental rewards for the daily quest challenges are gravy.

For the sub-Lvl50 players / alt-toons trying to progress in the story quests and level-up efficiently, we went from 750 wisdom points to 700, and realistically only 500 for many of us, especially those who refuse to do PVP (like many newer players, my first taste of PVP was laughably brutal; I don't think I'll ever try again in this game unless the system is completely revamped, and only if I'm interested in building another alt-toon at that time). Grinding 100 + 300 + 600 monster kills, 5 + 10 + 20 champions, 9 + 18 + 36 melted items, 1 + 2 + 4 items crafted, or 2 + 4 + ? quests (side note: repeatable quests don't count? I completed several quests, some repeatable, in Stillwater Bay / Frog River Delta yesterday that did not register as part of my required 4 quests for the DQ challenge) ... that's hours, just to get the extra 200 wisdom points. The other awards between challenges 1 and 6 are ... meh: 1 or 2 keys, 3 realm frags, an exo? Underwhelming as rewards for hours of grinding. The gold may come in handy from the left column challenges, but the essence rewards for the middle column ... slightly better than meh, perhaps, but not thrilling.

Let's look at the numbers: For a non-PVP player, the old single DQ system often left me gilted due to PVP quests; I'd guess I was able to get the 750 wisdom point reward 4 days a week = 3,000 WP. New system we can get 7 x 700 = 4,900 per week. But at a time cost of 20 minutes * 4 days = ~1.5 hours of game play per week in the old system (3,000 WP / 90 minutes = ~32WP/min), versus easily 2 hours * 7 days = 14 hours of game play per week in the new system (4,900 WP / 840 minutes = ~6WP/min). Calculations are rough, but reasonable, suggesting the new system is more than 6 x as time-costly as the old system if you're going for the max WP. Limit yourself to only 500 WP, however, we're back in the 20 minutes or less territory, so 3,500WP / 140 minutes = ~25WP/min. More expensive than the old system, but 20%-25% higher, not 5x to 6x higher.

So, personally, I'll spend about 60% more time to get about 16% more WP per week.

I understand for the ancient wisdom part. But take the other rewards as another nice bonus for playing : what did you do before the appearance of the new DQ ? That's right... grind. This didn't change anything except the fact that now you have milestones to reach other than endless levels to pass, making the game more enjoyable.
Speaking of the pve part, 1000 monsters can be slain very easily, 63 molten items is fast too (just melt all the whites, greens, blues, etc. you find), only the quest & champ part take more time.

You can't melt white equipment XD
Since you don't play PVP ... it is very easy to do DQs ... all you have to do is play whatever you are playing every day and the dailies will be finished on their own.

About the leaders/champions .... Lot of players forget event maps are good to play too. If you are lower level and you are having difficult time finding matching monsters in the other maps ... you can always try Blackborg and Varholm (those in Varholm are no counting but you might find map with Jullov in it).

I just checked and you could cheat the system, and it costs you nothing. You upgrade the white item once (which costs barely any glyphs) and then you melt the white item. It counts. If you are really looking to do it fast, you can buy the white items from the armor merchant because the amount of gold you will get back from doing the DQ is way more than you use to buy the items.

I'm sorry that I've come out and said this in an open setting. I know that now it is just a matter of time until the Devs label this as an exploit and "fix" it, but in the meantime, I hope it helps some of you.

Well I was talking about situations when the game mechanics are working properly.
I know some "anomalies" in the game too ... but I am keeping them for myself :p

I don't know what you are talking about. Everything is working exactly as intended, it just has consequences that the developers were to short sighted to foresee.

Just had the daily quest to kill 3 worthy bosses or world bosses. Can anyone think of any good 'bosses' that we can kill for this at level 50? The only monster I can think of that would even count is Nefertari...

And just in case anyone doesn't know; parallel world bosses do count as world bosses, which is what I ended up doing.

What about the dragon before the entrance to destructor? Level 45, so should still be worthy. I haven't checked, but if that dragon counts, you can use the entrance to destructor to reset the stalgard map.

You are forgetting the F2P who don't have the andermant to cycle through the random chance of getting the Wisdom challenge. Previously, they could go through all their available andermant and still end up without the Wisdom reward doing something they felt they could do. This way they are guaranteed to get a chance at getting at least 250 Wisdom. This is a much greater chance than they had before to gain Wisdom. It is a good balance to the game.

And, personally, it is a lot of fun to see how far I can get in getting the various daily challenges before I run out of play time.
