Like Nova said, with a team, you don't need as much armor. If you want balance, then 2%dam/2+armor makes sense. Really, it is a personal preference.

Personally, I'm working on a pure % damage torso for my DK because I believe that old phrase "The best defense is a strong offense." A pure damage torso could give me 400-500 more damage in my final build and that, multiplied by my crit, crit damage, and speed could easily be worth 2000 DPS or more which is about 10%-15% more DPS over a 2%dam/2+armor. I think that monsters dying 15% faster is going to do more for my survivability than a couple % of physical damage reduction in a 2H build.

That being said, in a 1H build, I'd be more inclined to agree with your idea of 2/2 of Sigrismar's set because of the bonuses and the higher importance of damage reduction with a 1H build.

Long story short, I think that torsos might be the one of those areas that doesn't have a "one size fits all" solution for both 1H and 2H, especially with a DK, but with the DPS classes, 99% of the time, I'd say the answer is the % damage torso given the damage oriented nature of those classes.

I planned to make both 4x and 2-2, but now Sigi serves that purpose so I only need glass canon one. And tbh, any 2h build is sort of a glass cannon. Those extra 1000 armor will make you only few %, but you will still get oneshot in arena. Some archers hit me with 20k, despite ~60% armor. 65% will make marginal difference at 9-10k hp.

Also keep in mind that guilded clovers are no longer just a dream for us. A decent amount of armor can still be obtained on a damage torso by adding fortifying gems along with big cyanite gems.

Thanks for the insight guys!, I do agree with Sebastian that Sigris one would do for the balanced build, so I guess crafting a glass cannon oriented one isn't crazy at all, I really appreciatte your answers.

Read and reread my guide. With the exception of rare bits of extreme luck, almost everyone who is posting their successes are following that guide or doing something very similar or have minor variations.

Here is the short version. Never craft 4x gold lines at the green-->blue level. Only one can transfer, so you are wasting three lines as opposed to wasting some gold and junk green torsos. Second, when it comes to green-->blue, your second item should always be the "junk" item with the most slots.

For blue-->exo, always use 2x blue items with 1 gold line each in the first two spots and then junk items of the same type in the third and fourth. Here, the odds of passing on both gold lines to the exo is about 3.57%, so get ready for this to take a while. On average, you need 28 tries to do this. Sure, you could get lucky on your first try, or you could have exceptionally bad luck and do 50+ crafts and still not pass them on, but 28 is the average.

From here, it just turns into a game of patience. You follow a similar method for crafting legendaries out of exos by using 2x exos with two gold lines each and crafting those with junk items until you get what you need. The problem is, that your odds of success now drop to 1.82%, or 1 in 55. Don't be surprised if crafting a legendary with the three gold lines you want takes over 100 crafting attempts. It will take a ton of junk items, a ton of gold, and a ton of time.

Some people will recommend that you take a 2x gold line legendary if you get one (which has much more favorable odds of 21.82% or about 1/5), and that is OK if it makes a big difference in your toon because that will help you farm faster and easier so that you can work on your future items. Think of it like a stepping stone to even better gear, but if you are looking to craft a four gold line legendary, don't settle for anything less than a 3/4 legendary.

Final bit of advice... Strap in. You will be at it for quite a while.

You forget just a "little" detail: you need yellow bonus on green/blue items to start the crafting process.
Since craft 2.0 has been implemented, i collected every single bow i could find and i have never found just 1-damned-single yellow bonus of %idoti (or %wd), even if i farm 10h per day. So how could i improve my toon?
    Suggestions are welcome.

What makes you think I forgot:
    ...etcetera.

The catch is that getting those lines takes time. That is also why it is so important to not wast the ones that you do find by accepting inferior items for short term gain at the expense of long term growth. Second, If all you ever do is farm in normal maps, or even just painful, you will be searching for a long time. They are rare, but the higher difficulties do drop them more often. That means you have two choices. Either farm higher difficulties with a group and do full clears (not just bosses) for green/blue items, or you can save the few desirable gold lines that you do find and just work with slightly lower quality lines in the mean time. For example, collect 7.00%-8.99% torsos and attempt to make a damage torso out of that. If you get 2x 8.00% damage lines and 2x +350 armor lines on a torso, it may not be gold lines, but you do have a torso with over 900 armor and 16% damage, and a torso like that would help out a lot while farming for the gold lines. Same with a weapon. A 2H with 60%/60%/60% damage and +85 damage would be a huge boost to most people's DPS and makes a big difference in farming for the 70%+ lines.

Thenks for your short version of tips. I missed that I cant transfer two gold line in blue items. :(

  10. _Baragain_

    _Baragain_ Living Forum Legend

Going from green-->blue, you transfer one and get one random. Going from blue-->exo, you transfer two and get one random. Going from exo-->legendary you transfer three and get one random. It isn't until you start legendary-->legendary that all four lines come from the ingredients with no random lines. That is why following the process of distilling good stats into stronger items as you go up in rarity is so important and why people who try to craft without a plan usually fail. I think of all the people who try to craft legendary items, but they are using exos with no gold lines or only one gold line each, but then they are disappointed when they can't get anything they want.

But after revert you lost just 2 junk legendaries, I doubt you crafted 1 gold line legendaries, they must be from drop.

Today's craft. At lag time :)) hopefully it will not disappear. Input was 3/4,3/4,3/4,3/4. There were more CritDmg lines, and I lost some crit dmg with new setup, but the result is okay. Will adjust future items. And this one, lets call it final.

I am still at extraordinary to leg crafting ... I think I will have my first leg to leg attempt with my bow ... very soon. (as soon as I collect enough gold)

After today's testing, I guess I made a mistake even crafting it. The first input item, which I used was 3x crit dmg, all gold, and golden hp line. Now I ended up with 33% crit dmg loss, extra crit, and hp loss. Which I can only trade my pet now to crit dmg chicken to get 10% back, and replace onyx by radiant ruby. Overall, still a big loss of dpi in the current setup.

Will need to readjust what I craft, as I get too much crit and not enough crit dmg if I just gamble with a mix... learning something everyday.

Also got Sigi torso, so now use the full set. Another loss of 10% dmg, and Im not sure I like it.

But, anyway, overall the strategy works very well, and this is my third perfect item. And I also have had 2-3 failures with both crystal and amulet legendary crafting, all 3/4.

    My approach is:
Green - always 1,0,0,0, and I invest into slots to get the extra one of required.
Blue - always 1,1,0,0, and I also invest into slots.
Pink - always 2/2/2/2 unless I find two items with single but very good line - 2/2/1/1 then. Also, at the time I find them, I usually have farmed enough gold to craft.
Legendary - Always 3/3/3/3, no gamble, unless found 2/4, then can add into a mixture.

This approach is pretty reasonable in terms of gold required.

What I really struggle with is 2handed. I just dont get green or blues to start with. 500k honor points wasted without a single weapon dmg line... any suggestion on a map?)

Yep, but just so you know, although Traki might disagree, I've been doing a lot of side runs to those maps for RoD in my free time and I noticed no difference, I'm also struggling to get scrap materials and good yellow lines on weapons, just my personal experience.
