    1. Roshan is not even mediocre set anymore
    2. same with Witch Hunter/Chaser set
    3. Wings of the dragon codex - ditch it at first possible chance
    4. Jewels of the Desert is not a right set for 1H ... It is good only for 2H weapon just so you can raise your crit hit. You don't need it when using 1H ... you are using book it is enough to boost your crit hit. You would want damage or crit damage items instead of Jewels set.
    5. You don't need Dragan's Set at all ... it is only good if you play the arena ... but you don't.

Thanks for pointing all these out. But I'm not sure what I should be aiming for then :) For example, I was under the impression Wings of the dragon codex is a pretty neat book actually (+%damage, high crit rate, damage AND bonus resistance...).
It's quite obvious from your remarks I am looking at the items the totally wrong way...

It's a decent book indeed (perhaps the best unique book), but nothing more, I build around 2H or 1H+orb only, I've never been into books as an off hand item, but I think a crafted full CHR book might give you the best returns DPS wise, since they can be massive if you compare them to the ones in other items and a Bloodtooth can raise your CHR wonders with such a book, so it would open better chances to look for critical damage on the rest, maybe @sebastian_fl can enlighten us on this?

Sry, didnt get a notice. Perhaps it was an edit.

There is marginal difference between 4xCrit and 4xCritDmg.

In perfect world, 4xCritDmg is the best, as

    26/17 = 1.52
    464/309 =1.5 (lvl 50)

But since the difference is close to none, and also since critdmg might be harder to find, I craft whatever book I get. With critdmg in focus.

So if I have 2x pink with 2 critdmg lines, and 2x pink with 2x crit lines, I would place the crit dmg ones into slots 1 and 2 not to lose them when crafting.

Also, important consideration is a question of glyphs. Book needs to be upgraded anyway, while 4x crit dmg ring does not. So unless you have 300M glyphs, I would craft 4x crit offhand and focus rings and belts and other stuff on crit dmg.

Also, since the difference is marginal, it would be more important what else you have got to supplement.

In pure theory, 4x26% crit dmg is the best book you can get.

It's all starting to slowly make sense what you guys are saying. I always figured Critical Damage is the way to go if you want to up your DPS but I never imagined I would have to focus so much on it. Plus without a decent Critical Hit Rate the damage boost itself it pointless if you are not getting critical hits.

So right now I am struggling to figure out the way to go to further boost my character. I relied mainly on set bonuses and uniques to obtain high crit hit rate (a rate of 8000 was quite impressive really) but now it seems this strategy is stopping me from growing.

To make this incremental growth I'm clueless on what to aim for first. I can rely on getting drops on each individual item and crafting but that would fill my inventory to the max... So I have to prioritize. Plus my gold supply is not endless. And ultimately I don't have a group willing to invite me to farm with them. In short... I'm stuck!

Really feeling defeated right now and not sure what to do... I thought I had an average character but what's being said here suggests it's actually leaning more towards the low spectrum. "Hoping for good drop" is puzzling at best...

    Here is mine strategy.

    0. I do not pay besides premium. I have also some extra ander to open slots in case of a perfect craft, and thats it. I did pay in the past though. So crafting for farmed gold only. I also have all possible glyphs I need, so I can sell everything, which is a lot of benefit.
    1. I only have damage on my weapon, and also use bonuses from torso and 3/5 darkness (no torso, no boots)
    2. I use 2/2 sigi set, which is no brainer. Farming with ice is so much better than magic missile.
    3. I use 2/3 karabosa set (cape and boots)
    4. Weapon ideally should have 1 crit line, 2000+ (which I dont have currently, only 1700), and 3x dmg%. Currently I have 2xdmg% and 1x absolute dmg, all gold lines.
    5. Vast majority of other items should be crit damage, with eventual crit lines here and there.

    So thats on current setup.
    Perfect setup will be
    1. 4x crit helmet.
    2. Either darkness or 4x dmg legendary pauldrons.
    3. Either sigi or 4x dmg torso
    4. 4x9.8% speed gloves
    5. Karabosa boots for pve, 4x speed boots for pvp.
    6. Sigi amulet.
    7. 3x78% dmg%, 1x 1740 crit weapon (2130 or so at 55)
    8. Two 4x crit dmg rings.
    9. 4x crit dmg belt.
    10. 2x crit dmg, 2x crit amulet. (Or any combination of crit and crit dmg that produces enough crit to reach 79%)
    11. Gems of rage, as many as you can get.
    12. 4% crit gem.
    13. The best pets are right now either Absolute Dmg bear pet, 10% crit dmg chiken, 6% crit pet, depending on what you have got.
    14. Upcoming arachna pet will be the best, 400 crit, so I will put one more crit dmg line in one of the items instead of crit.

With the above setup, you can reach nearly
    - 7k damage
    - 80% crit
    - 500% crit damage
Assuming all perfect lines and top gems (3x sapphires, 3x onyxes, 4x rubies in my case)

    Farming
    1. I only farm 1 map besides events - q3. 95% on fatal. 75% m1 only, 25% full run with heredur.
    2. I run the normal map when waiting for pvp, and medium sometime when do not get any good items of fatal, just to change a routine.
    3. I use blue ess on every champion monster on fatal, at least for the first few shots, and seitch back to green when champ is dead. My blue never ends with that approach.
    4. I kill heredur on blue. Takes 3-3.5 min. Use pink for one kill a day which I get from the daily. The best thing I have done to make it safe and easy is to put speed boots.

    Crafting
    1. I only craft 1/4 on green level. Meaning 1 gold line
    2. I only craft 2/8 on blue level.
    3. On purple, I craft either
    - 2/3, 2/3, 1/3, 1/3 if I find those 2 extra junk items
    - 2/3, 2/3, 2/3, 2/3 if I dont.
    - eventually, for rare items (weapon, torso), I may try luck with 2/3, 2/3, 0/3, 0/3. Only if have extra gold.
    4. On legendary level, either
    - 3/4, 3/4, 1/4, 1/4
    - 3/4, 3/4, 3/4, 3/4.

That strategy is gold effective, as I try to keep my chances high but crafting less often, only when I get 4 parts.

And I never craft 3/4, 3/4, 0/4, 0/4 at legendary. Odds are less than 1%. Its just waste of gold.

To begin with, I craft any mix of crit and crit dmg I can get. When I got enough crit already, I focus on crit dmg only.

I also always put crit dmg items in the first two slots. They are harder to find.

Not sure if someone has better gold effective strategy, but this one works for me fairly well. Slowly, but fairly well.

Right now I have all the 3/4 legendaries I may need, so I craft and farm items for the slot 3 and 4.

Also my boots, 4x crit dmg ring, 3x crit 1x crit dmg belt are done. Helmet is 52% which is close to perfect, but will keep working on it.

PS. I wouldnt even consider using a book. I am crafting it too, but just in case. I only use 2h when farming, its essence effective. And I use the same setup with speed boots in 5v5 when have clover in daily. No gold yo change items.

    PS2. When I say I farm a lot, I mean a LOT :) i currently hold 1 place on grimmag with over 1.1M points on q3.

Thanks so much for the supportive answers guys. Really great to get some of that on the forums :)
Sebastian: Great ideas and strategy. Definitely sheds more life onto what I should be going for. I will slowly try to adjust to the 2-handed weapon setup. With 1.46 speed doesn't seem to be that bad after all. I will definitely look into your pieces of advice to improve the build and know kind of what to look for when I am crafting.
Dragonnns: That's really nice of you. Thanks :) Unfortunately I am only on Heredur :( But I really appreciate the cool gesture...

On Heredur you should be able to find tons of players. Got a guild? If not, just couple with some archer/dwarf/2h dk and do quick runs in q3. Much easier than solo, but requires 'common pace' in terms of inventory and time spent for selling/crafting.

On the attack speed, 1.46 is useless. Make it either 1.481, or get down to 1.429.

1.48 is a breakpoint for both fireball and lighting strike.
1.429 is a breakpoint for ice and magic missile.

For farming 1.43 is more than enough.

That's 6 crit lines from helmet/amulet + sigris + weapon + cloak right? Isn't that under 60% crit? Even with gems, I don't see how you reach 80%.

*EDIT* I realized 4 crit from helmet means % crit and I guess you can get close with super gems

Since you talked about Jewel of Rage, what gems do you buy with clovers? I just hit 10 clovers a few days ago and the armor gems looks like the best one but just wanted to make sure.

Also what do you think about the new cloak? I was gonna get t3 Karabossa cloak next event but with attack speed, movement speed, and insane armor, this cloak seems better to me.

I am currently using 2 of Roshan to get to around 7k hp. Isn't it pretty good for defense? If I take off both items my hp drops to a little over 5k.

Yes, crit helmet is 56% crit helmet. Currently I only have 52% or so. But even with that and my low crit line on a weapon, I have too much crit. Need to trade some crit lines for crit dmg.

On the cloak, it is BPs way to make money. They creat nice cloack, karabosa, and now they add this. Guess new 2000 gold quest cloak is coming too.

That cloak is nice if you lack attack speed. I dont, and I focus on essence effective DPS builds so I dont care about it. I have it though. Also that mount bonus still doesnt beat the undefeatable cape.

So mixed thoughts about it, dont plan to use it. Travel speed is not important in pve anyway, and I have 38% boots for bosses/arena if I need speed.

Also, Im curious if that new cape high armor is not a bug :)

On Roshan, it is mediocre. There better hp options, 4x hp crafted item for instance, or ring of life. But to be honest, the faster you kill the mob, the lesser hp you really need. I have 8.5 k or so, with buff, but never use it and trade for 25 mana bonus talent getting hp down to 6.5k. I think I can easily survive q3 fatal with 5k or less. Just make it slower, use guardian and reset colldown with singu all the time.
If you are not ready for fatal, do medium or even normal, glyph up. Those glyphs would help you grow faster than anything you are doing with that extra roshan hp.

PS. There are might be some minor mistakes in setup above, I wrote it out of my memory. I will re-run the simulation and post the resulting screen here later next week. Dont have dev environment here at home.

Well long term, I would eventually get enough gems to keep my hp reasonable so I don't do hp crafting. I am working on % hp amulets though since the boost they give is quite high.

Even with 7k hp I sometimes die in fatal. I get hit by stray projectiles, taunt doesn't work sometimes for some reason, and bosses sometimes have immunity traits. When the super fast dogs have immunity and fire at the same time I know I am going to have a headache lol. Poison bosses and lightning bosses make taunting less useful too. Frankly, I don't understand how people farm reliably with super glass cannon builds. (maybe you have so much damage you can kill everything so fast you don't need hp )

Yes, I kill them fast, 95% before they run crazy, but even when they do, there no more mobs around and I can accept those hits. Plus there tons of healing spheres.

I switch to blue ess before every chanp mob. Place guardian, MC and Singu so it will be around the champ mob and also I can stay there. And then I frost wind all of them to save guardian from death and to restore mana. I dont use teleport 5 point restoration (unless for bosses), as frost wind is cheaper.

Then I use destruction. And then multiple ice spheres. Champ dies fast, sometime destcruction and 1 ice sphere is enough, sometime destruction alone kills him.

After champ is done, I switch back to green to finish with other foes.

Dmg wise im at 5.6k max, 78% crit or so, 390% crit dmg. Also sigi set resets cooldown together with singu, and also makes ice sphere mana-cheap. Icesphere generates mana on its own, so I never run into any issues with mana with mine 130 (1 gem and 25 mana talent).

If I misplaced singu, and champ isnt there, I would kill all the mobs instead.

The worst type of champs for me are those whites, I try to freeze them before they spawn that fog area.

PS. I also have good armor 69%, and resist above 50%. If you strugle with defense, dragan build can do the trick. But use 2x 25% crit dragonache rings to boost the crit.

PS2. To be honest, fatal doesnt provide any major benefit over medium. Sure you would get less gold lines of Crit, and thats about it. All those % relative attributes drop at the same rare rate both in fatal and painful

Very very interesting talk here. And great pieces of advice Seb. Thanks!
I started working on some ring upgrade and I was able to get two purple rings with +28% critical damage for crafting (two 14%+ lines -> I know it's not gold... but it's the best I could do). The goal is to end up at least with a +43% critical damage as a starting point. From there on I can of course start refining the process (no point in waiting for the perfect gear from the very beginning).

One question that bugs me is the right side of uniques/sets I should be aiming for. I was able to save 8400 drakens so now I have two options when the beggar gnob decides to show up:
    1. Warlord set - I still need 4400 drakens to complete the cape.
This leaves me enough drakens for a Bloodtooth.
What I lose: Karabossa cape, and the +200 critical hit rate bonus from the 2 pieces set.
    2. Darkness set - I have enough to get the helmet, pauldrons and gloves.
I need to farm a bit more draken in order to afford the boots, though the question remains if they are better than the Karabossa boots (which combined with the cape also give a +200 critical hit rate and on their own give me some critical damage which is essential at this point).
    What I lose: nothing really.

Both leave an empty slot left for armor where I need to find something half decent - got a +9.5% damage green for now. In the meantimes I'm still praying I start dropping Sigri armor. Might take months though *laughs*
Not sure what to aim for so a bit of advice would be cool here. I know some people suggested that the Dragan set is better for PVP (don't care really) while others stated that the critical hit rate is far more important than the boost of damage (and mana) Dragan provides.
    So... any thoughts here?
    Thanks!

Officially the game "describes" a greater overall average value of the enchantments of items (statistically speaking... however they calculate this). It does not state that you get "better" types of enchantments (what does that mean anyway? For a mechanicus the critical chance/damage is irrelevant for instance).

I have asked this somewhere, but I do not remember receiving any response. But I have quit the game shortly after it. That was in Jan-Feb, 2016.

But Im pretty certain that is accurate. I've do hundreds and thousands of runs in q3 of various difficulty, and I was indeed getting many more absolute gold lines on fatal comparing to medium, whatever it is called, but not the relative gold lines.

I tried to search for the question in Haruki thread, but didnt found. Only found the other similar claim of mine in the PW feedback thread.

Guess you can start a thread on the topic, or wait for Haruki2.0 to come. Or we can ask some other folks around, what is their experience with relative drops on fatal vs normal?

Actually, it is pretty easy to test.
    1. Feel up 3-4 pages of items with green fatal items. Calcualte average enchant on absolute lines, represented as a percentage of maximum possible, which we know. For instance crit is 249.
    2. Do the same on normal and medium. Compare
    3. Repeat 1-2 for relative lines

All items are lvl55. All offensive gems are royal.

Hope it is pretty much self-explanatory, but the above setup uses
    • 5 royal rubies (I have 3.67)
    • 3 royal sapphires ( have 5.5)
    • 2 royal onyxes (have 1.67)
    • 5 jewels of rage (lowest level. 5% crit dmg, 1 att. Speed) (I have 3)
    • 1 4% crit gem, forgot the name
    • Green ess
    • 6dmg 30 min buff
    • 50dmg 3min buff
    • 25x2% dmg talent
    • 1x1.6% attack speed talent
    • 50% weapon dmg talent
    • Upcomimg Arachna pet
1.48 is my predefined target speed. Results will be different with other speeds.
