    Hi all.
    I'd suggest to change the group bonuses, divided per class.

    DK--> 8% more HP
    SW--> 8% more attack speed
    RA--> 8% more damages
    SM--> 8% more critical damage

    Even if there are two or more DKs, the bonus is just 8%, as well for other classes.

    That would maybe help with rangers' grouping problems...

    So... um... essentially the suggestion is to give SM's NO bonus :D OK by me since I rarely play the vertically challenged class :p

    I mean the bonuses are given to all party members, so, having one or two mages would increase party members' attack speed by 8%.

    Are you kidding? SM do not have critical damage on his turrets.

    I'm not an idiot, I know that dwarves "don't need crit dmg".
    It's not that SMs have 8% critical damage more, but, having a SM in team would increase critical dmg to ALL party members by 8%.
    That means that if there is a group of a SW (mage) and a SM (dwarf), both the SW and the SM will have 8% more critical damage (from having SM in team) and 8% more attack speed (from having SW in team).

    Now have you understood?

    OK. That makes sense.

    I actually find this a great idea. It tackles the greatest problem with grouping:
    SMs are almost exclusively wanted, RAs the opposite.

    I would only tweak it a little:
    For presence of each class in group, all group members receive specific bonus multiplied by size of the group. This way groups will benefit most from having all 4 classes present.

    DK => 1% increased HP * group size
    SW => 1% increased critical rating * group size
    RA => 1% increased damage * group size
    SM => 1% increased critical damage * group size

    Why SM and crit dmg?
    You may wonder why SM gets a bonus that is unusable for its usual critless playstyle. The question should be why this class is forced to play critless instead. Giving SM group bonus of "dmg" or "% dmg" would only encourage SM to group together, not needing other classes (besides mandatory tank).

    Why SW critrate instead of attackspeed?
    Experienced players tend to have attack speed just slightly above speed-breakpoint. Adding some 2-5% speed would in most cases not reach higher breakpoint => no benefit. Yes critrate has 80% max, but that is much less likely to happen.

    Some group examples:

    DK SW RA SM
    +4% hp
    +4% critrate
    +4% dmg
    +4% crit dmg

    DK SW RA SM SM
    +5% hp
    +5% critrate
    +5% dmg
    +5% crit dmg

    DK SM SM SM SM
    +5% hp
    +5% crit dmg

    DK SW SM
    +3% hp
    +3% critrate
    +3% crit dmg

    DK
    +0% hp (group bonus applies only for 2-5 group size)

    PS1: The amount of % for each bonus may be changed. I'm not saying that 1% critrate = 1% dmg = 1% crit dmg is correct.

    PS2: Obviously the whole group bonus is meant for PVE ONLY.

    I would have a fraction of armor break working on bosses instead. Something like
    5% of first 2 classes
    10% for the third class
    10% for the forth class
    20% for the fifth being any class but dwarf (silly joke here)

    Strange ... my turrets always have x5 critical damage.

    OK, I'll be serious about this but I am still not very keen on it. First off % bonuses actually have very little effect for the average player until those get to a pretty big number. Even the 8% suggested in the op would not have much effect.

    Secondly, as seen in the subsequent posts in this thread everybody seems to have their own idea as to what the bonus stats and amounts should be. I highly doubt a consensus could be reached.

    Lastly, I do not feel it does anything for class discrimination. The reason this problem exists has nothing to do with group bonuses. The balancing issue that is the cause of this problem is not going to be fixed by changing something unrelated.

  11. Prior to the mild nerfing of the midget class and the slight tweaking of the rangers earlier this year, had the opportunity to do a little brain-storming with the lead developer. As a way of combating the perceived issue of mono-class groups, I raised the possibility of introducing an incremental group bonus for each extra character class represented in a group or, as a minimum, a modest group bonus if a ranger was present (since they are currently perceived as the least desirable group member by some). This was considered and rejected for the same reason as suggested by MikeyMetro in his last point above.

    i.e. Ain't gonna happen.

    So... @Allogeneous how does your story end? Did they give up completely in tackling the balancing issues that lead to class discrimination, or are they working on something that will make mixed groups more appealing. Ehm... I mean, something at all that we can expect any time soon?

    Actually my guildmates and friends are playing event for drakens. I won't group with them, first 'cause i don't need drakens, second 'cause i spent all my fragment (1.4k) to try find the damn pet but i didn't find the "leg" part.

    So, i'm trying to enter a team for some q (better tp to use those troubled 3 days of deluxe premium). in an hour and half i've been kicked out of 6 teams, tryed to form 4 teams where all players left after 3 minutes because "you no find war so i go!!1!!!"... what do i have to do to play a in a damn group without being kicked out because of my character's class?!

    that's sad...

    Many online games (particularly MMOs) have done this sort of thing. Essentially there could be larger bonuses for grouping to heavily-incentivize doing so.

    Hurr's idea seems the most well thought-out. If an online game won't offer some incentives for grouping then many people will just play solo or quit the game. I'm sure even BP wants lower to lower their UAC and social-oriented improvements could go a long way towards this.

    Also an actual dungeon queue group-finder because reasons ;)
