    Hello there!

I have played WoW extensively before, and well... we got LOADS of abilities there and also loads of action bar space to put it all there and bind everything.

I am somewhat confused here in Drakensang, where in total I have 14 available abilities but only 7 action bar slots. Okay, then there is left click/right click and tab to switch right. In total 7 + 3 (2.5, technically).

Am I required to somehow only choose these 10 abilities to play around with... or there is a feature to enable extra actions?

I don't see the reasoning behind... or workarounds...

Well this is this game not that game... it's just the way the design is. And there are no workarounds.

Ultimately each player picks this skills that match up with their play style. Also some skills are not that useful at endgame and others get over-used.

In a typical pve grind I actually only use 3 to 4 skills on a constant basis, this goes for all char classes. some "normal" difficulty situation only require 2. The others only get used in tougher situations. The real oddity in this game that in the toughest boss fights the number of skills used drops again.

For pvp I just put my head on my keyboard and face roll the number keys :D

    Luck be with ye,
    Mikey,

Also, with the way skill points work, you can only focus on a couple of skills to get their bonuses.

Furthermore, there are some skills that are just down right useless. (Looking at you, Dwarf-in-a-box!)

Don't listen to him Dwarf-in-a-box! You're plenty useful, you distract mobs for, maybe up to 3 seconds, and stun them for 1 second, 1 second long enough to take them all out. He doesn't understand you like I do. (I love you, Dwarf-in-a-box!)

Dwarf in a box! is a really usefull skill if you solo with your dwarf, with a good tank it isn't useful but in solo runs it's really useful ;)

I remember what we had before dwarf-in-the-box when the steam mech was still on the test server... that little ring wall was amazing. It trapped a mob and could actually take more than one hit. Using the little wall, I was able to solo Khaly on my test server mech with no issues... a feat that not even my test DK could do at that level.

Compared to that, yes I can see why Dwarf-in-a-box would be considered useless. Did that skill have a cool down time, or did it use steam as Dwarf-in-a-Box does now?

You see, with an arsenal of at least 15 steam, Dwarf-in-a-box can be used at anytime. (having talents on Mass Produced.) The Dwarf-in-a-box is your friend, your side kick, your trusted temporary tank, he's there for you, he'll protect you with no regard for his own safety. He can stop flag runners dead in their tracks up to 4 seconds. He'll make monkey sounds to make you smile, he'll bobble up and down on his spring and box to brighten your day. Become one with your Dwarf-in-a-box, use him, love him. ;)
