Hi all. I've hit 50 recently and went to parallel world and found out my 2hand dk can clear the mobs, but need to switch to 1H and shield to solo the boss.

SO, the question i have is, why is it that all the 1H and shiled Dks (ones i've seen anyway) go SWORD for the 1H?

My 2 hand is an axe, and honestly for my logic, i don't know why anyone would use anything else cos of the inherent free crit hit rate in every axe.

I'm not saying i'm smart or something but i really don't see the down side of an axe? Would the more experienced dks eductae a noob please? Why sword?

    Thanks in advance.

Some 1H dks are tank and taunt dks that work in a group. A sword has higher attack speed, allowing them to regen rage faster in the basic attacks in order to cast taunt more frequently to hold the boss in place. The other teammates then use all-dps builds to kill the boss. This group tactic technique works really well with a number of popular pw bosses.

Most solo dks aim to use an axe or hammer/mace for the damage output.

In every class there are different types of roles, for DK there are the dmg dealers and the tanks. The tanks use swords to make all the mobs aggro on them since faster attacks give more rage to use the aggro attack. If you are a 2H I would go for an axe and an axe for 1H is good as well but if you want to be a super tank then sword would help a lot more in groups.

Hmmm. Ok so the sword helps to build rage for a taunting dk....interesting.

So if i'm a solo 2hand dk, but i switch to 1h and shield for boss, then i'm better off using a 1 hand axe cos my 2 hand build is built with high crithit rate and crit damage and the 1H axe won't drop my crit rate too much.

    I get it. Thanks guys.

    Hi Devlinne,

While you solo using 1h+shield. You might want to memorize bosses AI.
    Learn when to:
    - Dodge their basic & special attacks
    - Use particular skill in certain condition
This mean also to safe escaping skills and use it in right moment
    - Time your single attack or double/tripple attack
    - Take hits to gain rage & when not to

The faster you can switch back to 2h the better.
As you can kill bosses faster with less resources thus making more profitable run.

Thanks for the tips bro. I wish there was 2 things here though.....

    1) A one button auto switch skill bar
    2) Allow us to put weapons and stuff on skill bar to fast swap.

BUT. Just have to work with what we got^^

    Not quite :)

Like others have said, 1h tanks in a tank mode use swords to build rage faster and taunt/hold the boss.

One smart strategy might be to get two separate 1h weapons.
    1. sword with as much attack speed you can get filled with some spare cheap sapphires, that you are not using. or, the gnob weapon
    2. whatever 1h you prefer to pvp/solo maps with. could be an axe.

So when you do your solo routine, you use #2 with rubies. then someone asks you to go bosses, you just swap the 1h to fast sword without changing gems. sword will always be there filled with whatever sapphires left.
