My question is simple what shoud i do with all the items with gold values from green to purple that i have? Throw them away or keep them and combine wit the new lvl 55 items?

While the question is simple the answer is not. There is some info from the Test Server section in this thread and also this one that may be useful. Also a new section in the FAQs on the new r185 enchantment transferring guide.

Bottom line: I would not recommend doing anything the may be later regretted just yet. Hang tight for a bit until things are clearer.

The answer is rather interesting and I'm still doing all my research, but I'll put it this way. If you have a LVL 50 item with a flat gold line "+Crit, +HP, + Armor, + Resist, + Damage" then you may want to hold on to those. It appears that all new items LVL 50+ no longer have those stats and this could make a big difference down the road.

The other key detail is that in the past, blues were slightly more valuable than greens because it saved you a crafting step and a little bit of gold. Now, greens are more valuable than blues because you have an additional set of stats to worry about; the base stats. If you find a green item with 3x gold lines of base stats, you can combine that with a green item with a gold enchantment and make a better blue item than you are likely to find. This is also the best way to inject old stats into new items.

What does all this mean? Crafting is getting more expensive, but some items will be godlike compared to their current versions.

Also these lines can eventually be moved to uniques with a guaranteed, not random, outcome. The variables in crafting just went through the roof but so did the possible combinations. It will be quite interesting to see what players eventually come up with.

Indeed. If I'd paid more attention on test server, I'd have horded some items base on that experience. Now I need to work with what I've got.
