Announcement Brown, Pink, Cyan Screen after Login (Cannot Play)

    Hello Heroes,

    Many of you have reported the following situation: You can login with some of your characters perfectly fine - but with some of your characters you enter the game and your screen looks like this.

    Why is this happening?
    Obviously some files of your character are not being loaded correctly.

    We are currently gathering information via our support: www.drakensang.com/support to find out what causes this issue.

    If you are facing a similar problem – please get in touch with the support and follow their instructions.

  2. UPDATE:

    After the sync of release 165 the team was able to reproduce the problem.


    Here is how it happens:

    A map – let’s take for example The City of Cardhun – has a capacity of let’s say 50 players that can be on the map simultaneously. Once the limit is reached a copy of the same map is being loaded.

    Every copy of the map can hold up to 50 players as well. Usually, players that are in the same group are being loaded onto the same map. However, now with this bug players are being forced to land on this map when they are in a group, even if the map is already full and that’s why they see the brown, pink or cyan colored screen.

    They have been loaded onto a map that is already too full and then remain stuck.


    Next Steps: the team was able to reproduce this issue and it has been given

    high priority to be fixed immediately – you can expect a hotfix soon.

    Hello Heroes,

    In order to fix the issue with the brown screen - the developers have decided to test a possible fix on the servers. The first server that has received this fix is Agathon.

    Here is the hotfix sync schedule:

    LIVE SYNC, Thursday 19.05.2016

    TIME SCHEDULE

    03:30 pm CEST (UTC +2) start count down on all instances (30 minutes)
    04:00 pm CEST (UTC +2)
    start maintenance (took only 5 minutes)
    04:05 pm CEST (UTC +2)
    servers online again

    If the fix proofs itself to be successful then other servers will follow tomorrow.​

  4. The fix will be applied on server Werian, Heredur, Grimmag, Balor and Tegan

    There will be a downtime. The hotfix is a follow-up from the hotfix that we launched yesterday 19.05.2016

    For a few weeks already some of you are affected by a brown screen that is stopping you from playing Drakensang Online. We’d like to tell you that our team is currently investigating this. We totally understand the frustration around it so rest assured that we are not reducing its priority and that we are committed to fix it. Whenever we have more information for you we’ll let you know via these boards.

  6. Dear Heroes,

    Our developers have new clues about what might be causing the issue with the brown screen.
    Thanks to the tracking that we implemented with release 167 it is now more and more evident that
    the brown screen appeared after release 164, when we added the Compendium.
    The server and the client of DSO have troubles loading the amount of quests that are saved
    in your characters’ information and because of this struggle you get a screen that is half loaded
    and thus you see a colored screen (brown, cyan, magenta).

    Next steps:
    With release 168 we are implementing a fix to resolve this issue.
