Is everything in this game attainable without spending cash? Are there items that are only purchasable that gives the player more of an edge over a free to play player performance wise?

evrything is free Takes much longer with no investment but everything is farmable would recommend getting premium if spending anything

The only thing you can not get with out spending money is from the premium merchant (you have to have a premium account to buy from her.) BUT... no one uses what she sells anyway, there are far better choices of equipment.

Best tip for a new player deciding what to spend ander on... Gems are the only thing in the game that you will DEFINITELY keep forever.

Game is playable as F2P, especially if you just want to do PVE, but will require significant time investment if you also want to do PVP.

Buying premium is usually better than buying anders if you farm the pws, as the cubes give quite a decent amount of gems.

Cool thanks for the replies, not a big fan of p2w games id rather play a sub based, but even better, true f2p games where you can spend money when you chose to but its only cosmetics, extra xp etc. my next question was going to be what is the best thing to invest real money in but already got my answer, premium. Thanks again!

And the fact that they give away 1-3 days of premium via bonus codes every several months means that if you really care, you could save up in anticipation and buy it when you get your "freemium."

To add to what everyone else is saying:
Because you can earn the premium currency, Andermant, and the fact that they will (from time to time) give away short bits of premium, yes, everything can theoretically be achieved as a F2P. However, because the premium currency is used for useful items, and not just cosmetics, there is defiantly an element of P2W. If you play free, you will always have to put in more hard work and effort to make up for the money that you aren't spending, but it can still be a very rewarding process.

Like Bruluci and Mikey said, don't waste your Andermant on things that won't last. Use it to buy gems and inventory space. Prioritize the inventory space until you have 2.5-3 pages unlocked, then shift your focus to gems until you start running out of space in your daily farming routine.

When buying inventory space, you can buy 3 lines at a time for a 10% discount if you open the shop with the 'T' key (10800 for the bundle vs 12000 if bought separate). This only becomes available after you have bought the first line on the first page.

When it comes to buying gems, Always Wait For Them To Be On Sale For 25% Off! From there, prioritize your offensive gems. Damage gems generally go in your weapon and speed gems in your weapon adornment. Some more specialized builds will use crit gems in the adornment too, but that is less common. Work on getting all your gems up to polished, then don't buy any more polished gems. Only buy the radiant gems. They cost 6.25% less this way and that makes a big difference in the long run.

Yes, i have played for only 3 months, well since the last dragon event. I am having a great time trying keeping my toon leveled w/ the creatures that I face. The decisions about what to keep and what to melt are very challenging.

Of the two choices; Invent. or gems as a noob I chose Invent. I once in a while buy a small offensive gem to make a bigger one, but I save my ander for inventory. The reason is that it seems like every month has at least three events and some of these events give tier 1 items and you need to keep four of them to make a 2 tier item and that could be until the next Dragon event comes along.

Have fun and kill them all, for you never know what will drop and they are foul creatures of the underworld who don't deserve to live!

Disagree. In my opinion, this game is more free to play than P2W.
You don't get a significant advantage being a payer.
    May be 10% stronger.

Lol, go play in low lvl pvp and tell me if its 10% stronger, not gona talk about lvl 50 because as i see everyone die in 2sec.
What dragenstein did say is totaly true.

As a F2P when i go pvp its just for clover and i go on full tank to not die fast, with all my def above 70%, 42% res and something like near 15k hp i still die really fast, and when i put my 2H well you can guess :)

As someone who played alot of games i never saw such unbalanced pvp, gems and glyphe differance is alot.

Lets say in arena a F2P vs P2P you totaly have no chance to win whatever you do, even if the other dosent know how to play you still gona lose, why ? you hiting a truck and die if you do one mistake. sorry for my english :)

First of all low level pvp isnt unbalanced because of payers but because of twinks. They stay at the same level and become super over powered and then no one has any change of killing them.

Secondly Im sure bargain for example who is a f2p can defeat some of those p2p depending on the time they spent and the amount of money the used.

My point was that it is possible to get to their level of power. You just need to work Yx times more than they have to.

So this P2P in your example, what do you think they have more than the F2P?
Can you please quantify an example?
Are you talking about someone who has spend few hundred dollars or in thousands?
What gems have they bought compared to what the F2P has?
Other than gems are you thinking of anything else that the P2P has bought?
Or are you one of those people who complains everyone who beats them as a P2P player?
    with the famous phrase "cash"

you just have to read what dragenstein said so will not argue on that.
and to answer your question i play this game for pve not for pvp because its not fun everyone die in 2hit but when i do pvp its for clover, and no when i die i smile all pvp is so unbalanced at some point i laugh so i guess its maybe also fun ? :) hope did answer your question sir !! forgot to notice i play for 4 month i know that also have something to do :)

    You may have misunderstood me.

I was trying to explain to you in your terms that there is not a big difference between a F2P and a P2P character. So, if you can tell me what you think a P2P has, then I can give you reasons with calculations, the differences between that and a regular F2P.

What you have experienced as one hit killers are not necessarily P2P characters. They could be, but their strength comes mostly from farming better equipment like everyone else in the parallel worlds. The difference between a character wearing level 55 gear against someone wearing level 50 gear is huge.

I think a lot of free players give up on pvp right away because of the twinks. This has always been an issue...

That being said, pvp is a hard climb! regardless of whether you buy gems or not.

Instead of complaining, maybe suggest a solution?

Perhaps level pvp, normal/painful/excruciating ??? idk

i don't believe there are enough players to rank by pvp level. I think they tried that and it ended with a whole lot of waiting for matches.
    and that just isn't fun

in other games that rank pvp, rewards are much higher if you defeat an opponent at a much higher level than you. That might be a way to
make the climb a little more rewarding. maybe...

this might be a bit off subject, but... Discussions about F2P often end up in a PVP bashing.

PVP is the most underutilized area of the game, and the portion that receives the least attention.

removing essence was a great thing to help balance between free and pay. subsequently saving everyone stacks of red!

i played pvp all the time in the early days... only for clovers on my main now. and that makes me sad. but it's just not that fun.

No, no !!! This game is a P2W !!! You can not spend money, but you can never become competitive in this game against those who pay. I have warned you, honestly!
Many of you have said the opposite because they themselves spend to win in this game no one admits to pay
